An important project for the better operation of the swimming pool and the protection of the environment are the overflow tanks that were installed at the National Swimming Pool. Until the date of their installation, the chlorinated water of the swimming pools was going into the sea and thousands of liters of hot water were being lost, polluting the sea.
Now the water is purified and reused, while ensuring significant savings in the cost of heating the swimming pools. For example, water consumption in 2018 reached 28 thousand cubic meters, while in the past consumption ranged from 50-65 thousand cubic meters. This means that a reduction in water consumption costs of 45,000 to 58,000 euros was achieved.
