On Tuesday afternoon (14/09), the secretary and deputy secretary of the Chania Prefectural Committee of the KIN.AL Chrysa Charitaki and Ippokrates Manoudakis had a thorough discussion on all issues concerning the sports facilities managed by the EAK of Chania with the president of the EAK, Mr. Takis Svourakis.
The president of the EAK X. informed the members of the committee about the developments regarding both the indoor swimming pool in Akrotiri and that of Nea Chora. At the same time, Mr. Svourakis also gave an outline of the efforts that his committee is making regarding the stadium itself, from the upgrading of its lighting, to the area of the Weightlifting hall, the reopening of which has been “stuck” in bureaucracy for years.
For their part, both Ms. Charitaki and Mr. Manoudakis stressed the need for cooperation between all city bodies to prepare a holistic study of Chania's sports needs, while they particularly insisted on the immediate convening of the facility management body in Akrotiri so that everything announced by the Deputy Minister of Sports does not remain on paper.
The two sides agreed to remain in communication as the upgrading of sports facilities is common ground.
