With the participation of 50 male and 25 female athletes from all over Greece, the Panhellenic Fencing Cup in Dueling Sword (EREE) was held at the National Stadium of Chania on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the MEN-WOMEN category.
The competitions were part of the program of the Hellenic Fencing Federation (E.O.X) and had particular scoring importance for the athletes, given the limited number of competitions held due to restrictions on the transmission of COVID-19.
In the MEN'S category, KAVVADIAS SAVVAS (PAO) took 1st place.or place, MARKOPOULOS IOANNIS (O.S.AMAROUSIOU) on 2or position while KON/NOS KARAMPASIS (A.O.ARISTON) and GEORGIOS MINAS (SPARTAKOS CORINTHIAS) occupied the 3rdor place. In the YOUNG WOMEN category on 1or FERRACUTI ELENA (O.X.I. FLORINAS) took 2nd place.or THEODOROPOULOU ANDRIANA (A.O. ARISTON) and the 3rd placeor 1st place was taken by CHATZISARANTOU NIKOLETTA (A.O.ARISTON) and KARAMPINI IRINI (IRIDA). The athletes of A.L.CHANIA who participated in the MEN'S Category were MAINGOT ANDRIANOS, PAPAGIANNIS ALEXANDROS, TSISMENAKIS NIKOS, ALIMBRANTIS ORIONAS, KOUTSOUKLAKIS CHRISTOS while in the WOMEN'S Category were KASSIMATI DANAI, ELEFTHERAKI ANGELINA, THEODOROGLAKI EVELINA, PANAGOPOULOU SIDERI ARIADNI, KRITIKOU ELENA, PERDIKAKI ALAEXANDRA, SKOULA MARITINA and MAGGIORI OLYMPIA. The athletes of the A.L.C. - who participated for the first time (due to age) in the MEN-WOMEN Category - did not manage to "get into" the medals despite their very good competitive "performance".
The organization and conduct of the games was entrusted by the E.O.X to the Chania Athletic Club (A.L.C.) which, with its many years of experience in organizing National and International games, the appropriate equipment to support such games, as well as the valuable help of Sponsors and Friends of Fencing, managed - while adhering to all Health Protocols and International Game Safety Regulations - to meet the demands and needs of the sport and the athletes. It is worth noting that the games were attended by the Vice President Manoudakis Ippokratis and the Member of the Board of Directors Didaskalos Ilias, the International Referee Douvis Dimitrios as the Technical Director of the Games, as well as 7 experienced Referees from Athens and Thessaloniki.
