The Management Committee of the Chania Sports and Recreation Center decided to stop collecting the 5 euro fee from May 1st, due to planned work to be carried out at the National Stadium.
In particular, work will begin to replace the light bulbs on the southern pillars of the stadium, while a crane is expected to arrive at the site next week and the electricity supply to the area will be gradually cut off.
After May 1, power will be cut off to all pylons and the stadium (not to surrounding areas, offices, indoor areas, etc.) and will be restored when the project is completed.
The stadium will be permanently closed in July until at least mid-September.
It should be noted that until its closure, as decided by the Board of Directors, the stadium will also be open to the public on Sundays, completely free of charge, which is happening for the first time.
Additionally, next week, the president of the Board of Directors of the Chania Sports and Recreation Center, Takis Svourakis, will be in Athens, as the study for the weightlifting hall has been completed, the project budget is being finalized and the tender documents are being issued.
CONTRACTS FOR THE SPOTLIGHT
The new contracts that must be signed with the shooting clubs, as the previous ones have expired since 31/12/2021, the D.E. will discuss with them the decisions for any changes and depending on the use of shooting ranges made by each club.
