The Chania Regional Energy Agency is moving forward with the signing of a Program Agreement with the Region of Crete to cover its energy needs.
In particular, within the framework of the ELENA (European Local Energy Assistance) initiative implemented by the European Investment Bank and aimed at supporting local and regional authorities in the maturation of energy saving and RES projects with the aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, EAK and the Region of Crete (implementing and budget-covering body) in order to cover the energy needs of EAK Chania through the creation of an energy community.
The physical scope of the project, which should be completed by June 30, 2022, includes:
- Implementation of photovoltaic projects through the creation of energy communities
The Region of Crete will hold the relevant tender, while the project budget amounts to 193,200 euros plus VAT, financed by 90% from the ELENA mechanism and 10% from the Region of Crete.
