Thank you for coming to the press conference on the occasion of the review of the projects and work of CHANIA E.A.K. for the outgoing year 2020, as well as their beneficial prospects.
We considered it necessary to inform you directly articulate the controversial projects and their prospects
In more detail, we declare to you that, they are in progress:
1) The energy upgrade of the lighting pylons of the Chania stadium, where from the 21or/1/2021 the submission of bids will take place, while on 1or/2/2021 they will be unsealed.
2) The construction of the preheater, where from the 19thor/1/2021 the submission of bids will take place, while on the 25or/1/2021 their unsealing will take place.
3) In swimming pool the cutting and removal of the roofs of the 12.5m. and 25m. swimming pools, the installation of lighting and the maintenance of their building facilities have been planned. In addition, you are aware that, for the aforementioned project, the period for objections to the bids of the said competition has passed and the signing of the agreement with the contractor is imminent. The expected start of the project is the 20or January 2021, according to the formalities of the competent officials of the General Secretariat of the Hellenic Republic/Ministry of Culture and Sports.
4) The conclusion of a memorandum of cooperation with OAK and the start of studies costing 248,000 euros. In this case, the studies concern the energy upgrade of all sports facilities of the E.A.K. Chania, as well as the complete maintenance - replacement of the electrical-mechanical and building equipment of the swimming pool.
We also present to you the framework of our detailed actions, concerning works and supplies per sports facility:
A. "HELENA VENIZELOU" NATIONAL STADIUM
1) The programmatic contract with the regional unit of Chania is in effect, costing 126,000 euros, for the supply of: a) a pole mattress, b) an electronic basketball scoreboard, c) parquet maintenance work and d) replacement of frames and glass panels of an indoor gym.
2) Repairs and painting of the stands of the outdoor basketball and handball courts have been carried out after the careful placement of eighty (80) seats, as well as the supply of two new "basketball courts".
3) Construction-installation of a new metal door on Andrea Papandreou Street, accompanied by a new sign with lighting, as well as construction of the metal door on Eleftheriou Venizelou Street.
4) Application of general maintenance and painting of cement columns with frames of the perimeter fence of the -stadium- on Charilaou Trikoupi Street.
5) Complete maintenance with the necessary replacement elements for the effective operation of the power station and
6) The installation of air pollution sensors is imminent. A project funded by the regional unit of Chania for approximately 450,000 euros.
B. SWIMMING POOL
1) The procurement and installation of two (2) lightning rods has been completed.
2) The supply of water polo goals and stopwatches.
3) The cost-supply of four (4) pylons with the necessary lighting for the 50m swimming pool.
4) Supply of fifteen (15) touch panels.
5) The mechanical pump market.
6) Insulation repair work and painting of all interior spaces of the said center and
7) Replacement of polycarbonate.
C. SPOTLIGHT
1) Maintenance of the wooden, metal and building facilities of the clay target.
2) Supply of mechanical equipment.
3) Maintenance of fixed-purpose building facilities at 80%, which concerns 3,000 m2
4) Maintenance – landscaping and
5) Construction of an Olympic-sized 70m archery field. To complete the aforementioned field, the placement of shade sails on the platforms, on the shooting line, as well as some small, but necessary, earthworks interventions are still required.
D. ANTIBODIES
1) The insulation of ceilings and staircases has been completed and
2) The maintenance - reopening of two (2) heating chambers (saunas) has been completed.
E. GENERAL ACTIONS
Activities such as:
1) The friendly basketball match "in memory of Thodoris Papagrigorakis".
2) Conducting blood donation and
3) A video conference was held with a specialized speaker, in order to highlight the necessity of psychological support for athletes during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is worth noting that the aforementioned projects constitute issues of essential and major importance, as well as the provision of services, within the framework of the daily and operational needs of the relevant E.A.K.
