MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND SPORTS
GENERAL SECRETARIAT OF SPORTS
PRESS OFFICE
Athens March 16, 2020
PRESS RELEASE
Their messages, for the days of coronavirus, to Greek society, the sports family and especially the new generation, are being sent through an online campaign by Olympic, Paralympic and Champions, members of the pioneering program for the dissemination of sports values, "Live Athletically", of the Deputy Ministry of Sports.
As gatherings and close contacts are not allowed, the actions of "Live Athletics" have changed form. Our athletes are producing videos with #stay_at_home prompts, with advice on how to faithfully follow the instructions of public health experts and with ideas on how each of us can productively deal with this unprecedented situation, for the benefit of all.
Such videos by Spyros Gianniotis, Dimitris Papanikolaou, Christos Volikakis, Evina Maltsi, Grigoris Polychronidis, Takis Fyssas, Voula Kozompoli, Kostas Tsartsaris, Neri Niagouras, Panagiotis Pelekoudas, Stella Christodoulou, and Jenny Loukatou have already been shown.
More are being produced and shown every day, as more and more people come together and wish to contribute to the initiative and communicate the message of tackling SARS-CoV-2. United, with the utmost sense of individual responsibility but also a fist, like a champion team.
The next step, in fact, will be information from our top athletes about home exercise programs.
