The Board of Directors of the Chania Sports Association met on Wednesday afternoon, during which there was also a video conference with the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis.
Among the topics of the meeting was the issue of the 5 euro entrance card, with President T. Svourakis reporting to the members... "We characterize it as a project, given that it is in the initial stage of implementation and the first data are already encouraging as to how the people who use the EAK facility have perceived the effort being made to offer the necessary rewarding services in a short period of time, with an emphasis on cleanliness, entry control, but mainly on the formation of appropriate infrastructure for athletes. Because there is a lot of discussion about the amount of 5 euros, from this even small income, there will be an additional aid in the long term, along with the regular EAK subsidy, but also any funds that will be given to improve infrastructure and services provided."
Regarding the reconstruction of the locker rooms, the EAK is looking for engineers to submit a full study, as only one was submitted last June. The studies will be in the form of a proposal and not as a final offer, like the one last June, in order to move forward with the procedures.
The issue of the shooting range's opening hours was also discussed, with the Board of Directors accepting the proposal to change the opening hours, in order to facilitate the training of skeet and trap athletes. Also, in the near future, a green carpet will be placed on the clay target shooting range, also to facilitate training, while the issue of security of the area with closed-circuit cameras was also raised for discussion.
