The National Stadium of Chania is open to the public as of today, June 19, as work has been completed to install and connect the new electric lighting to the pylons.

The cables located outside the pylons will be connected inside them after the completion of the photometry study.

The relevant hardware for controlling the lighting has already been ordered, which will be different for each competitive activity, with a total of seven different programs based on the needs of each sport.

This second phase of the targeting study and construction of the new substation will take place in July, on a date to be announced.

During a three-day period in this second phase, the National Stadium of Chania will be closed to everyone, as the electricity supply will be completely cut off, since, in addition to the work at the substation, a crane will be re-installed in the stadium for each pylon.

The third phase, which does not affect athletic activity at the stadium, will take place a little later, with maintenance and painting of each pillar separately and with safety measures under each of them during the work.
