In the presence of the Secretary of the World Shooting Federation, Willi Grill, and his wife Lisa, also a member of the Federation, the international competitions “Battle of Crete – Stelios Karampinakis” are taking place at the National Shooting Range of Chania in Kampani, Akrotiri.
Mr. Grill was given a tour of the shooting range by the manager and member of the Chania Shooting Association, Vangelis Lampakis, and stated that he was impressed by the facility, which has undergone very significant improvement interventions in recent times.
In fact, Mr. Grill also fired shots at the fixed target, while also talking to athletes.
Mr. Lampakis explained to Mr. Grill the effort being made to create a 4th clay target shooting range, so that the shooting range can host world cups and championships.
Mr. Grill was also impressed by the fixed-target shooting ranges and stressed that he will help as much as he can to further modernize and upgrade the 25-meter shooting range with electronic targets.
Also present was the national coach, Giorgos Salavantakis, who referred to the goals of the National Team, as well as the training facility in Chania, which has been upgraded with key interventions recently.
