The obstacle that existed with the issue of lighting at the National Stadium of Chania was finally overcome, as the case was "unstuck" by the Court of Auditors.

According to information received by the president of the Board of Directors of the Chania Municipal Sports Complex, Takis Svourakis, the Court of Auditors is ultimately not stopping the project, which is expected to proceed in the coming days, with the installation of LED technology lamps, which will provide another level of lighting in the Stadium.

The "green" light is thus given to the contractor, who has also given an advance payment to an Italian factory for the supply of the lamps, so that he can complete the project.

"The challenge is to catch the international track and field meeting taking place in our stadium, with our new lighting. I should note, of course, that throughout this time we never left the stadium dark and our athletes' training continued uninterrupted," points out Mr. Svourakis.
