Lefteris Avgenakis describes the government's full plan for the second phase of lifting restrictions on sports, in an interview with iEidiseis, while answering questions about whether there will be a champion in football, whether there will be a restructuring of the championship, what will happen with the elections in the federations, whether the Euroleague finals should be held in Athens. At the same time, he also gives an answer to the clubs that prohibited him from visiting their facilities.
As the responsible deputy minister reveals to iEidiseis, the next steps in sports are as follows:
"Next week we will move to the 2nd stage of lifting restrictions. With careful moves always. Slightly expanding the circle of those who will have the right to train.
• We will also include the remaining sports of the pre-Olympic group, which were not included in the first week. Always with the list of those who have already qualified for the Olympic Games or are claiming with great chances of qualification, as sent to us by the Hellenic Olympic Committee.
First of all, swimming, polo, diving. But also rhythmic gymnastics, beach volleyball and "combat" sports, such as wrestling, tae kwon do, judo, karate, boxing, but also modern pentathlon.
• Also, it is the turn of the athletes and the Paralympic team, for which these fighters of life have given our country so many medals.
• To the "low-risk" sports we will add nautical sports facilities for sailing, rowing, canoeing, kayaking and water skiing.
• In track and field, the list of those allowed to train will grow and, in addition to the Pre-Olympic team, athletes from national teams will also be included,
• restrictions on tennis will be lifted for the general public, always on the condition that they adhere to the schedule with appointments to avoid crowding and protocols.
• In football, based on the list of referees compiled by the Hellenic Football Association, they will also begin physical training. And if in Super League 2 health officials are appointed in each club for compliance with protocols and the safety of sports facilities, the same rules that already apply to Super League 1 clubs will apply there as well.
• In addition to football, athletes of team sports, such as basketball, volleyball, handball, field hockey and cricket, will be able to train in small groups (without a ball) in open spaces.
• Similarly, all "combat" sports, whether they are on the Olympic program or not, always in open spaces and without physical contact.
And because there is also the anxiety of the thousands of candidates for the 3rd Lyceum who have declared SEFAA, Military Schools and Security Forces in their computerized applications and will be examined in addition to the Panhellenic and in competitions, let them prepare. With the appropriate supporting documents, they will be allowed to train from the 18th of this year.
"At the same time, we are examining academies and gyms for the next phase. We understand the difficulties and are working systematically and relentlessly."
