The president and members of the Board of Directors of the Chania Public Swimming Association met with the president and members of the Board of Directors of the National Swimming Association on Thursday evening, in an effort to find a solution to the issue of heating the swimming pools of the Nea Chora swimming pool, in view of the winter season.
On the part of the Chania Regional Development Authority, all necessary actions have been taken and the relevant documents have been sent to the General Secretariat of State, in order to obtain an emergency grant, so that a tender can be held for the supply of oil.
However, due to the bureaucratic procedures and the time required to complete a public tender process and given the seriousness and immediacy of finding a solution to the problem that has been created by the lack of oil, it was decided that there would be an intervention by NOX, but also again by the Chania Sports and Recreation Association, to the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, in order to provide a solution in the coming days, before the weather changes.
At the same time, as a result of the loving cooperation between EAK Chania and NOX, the Group's management committed to contributing to the supply of oil.
A common finding at the meeting was that the energy crisis and the increase in fuel prices have created further problems in the operation of the swimming pool, with costs having essentially doubled.
Finally, during the meeting, developments regarding the reconstruction of the Nea Chora swimming pool were also discussed. With the completion of the studies by the OAK, we are now, as mentioned, just before the auction of this important project for Chania.
