Home / News / The aid collected in the EAC is on its way to Ukraine
At the Central Warehouses of the Hellenic Red Cross in Kolonos, from where the "convoy of love" departed to aid civilians in Ukraine, who are experiencing the devastating consequences of Russia's invasion on a daily basis.
Three trucks full of humanitarian supplies (non-perishable food, essential items, bottled water, etc.), which were collected at our sports facilities across the country, following the call we made to the sports family.
And the response was impressive, proving once again that the core values of sports, such as solidarity, remain alive and well! Athletes, coaches, parents and ordinary people contributed and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
I would like to thank, once again, the Hellenic Red Cross, its president Dr. Antonis Avgerinos, its executives and all the Volunteers for the excellent cooperation we have developed and the coordinated and effective synergies in this humanitarian action.
The precious cargo of the three trucks is expected to arrive in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, by next Monday and be delivered to the central warehouse of the Ukrainian Red Cross, for immediate and targeted distribution to the regions and residents, who are facing enormous problems, deprived of basic necessities.
