The Deputy Minister of Sports initially pointed out that similar teleconferences to coordinate everyone's activities and plan the next immediate actions, ensuring that everyone is coordinated and informed about the current and extremely important issues of the sports facilities in Chania, will be held on a very regular basis.
Then, Mr. Avgenakis informed them about the details of the Program Agreement signed yesterday, with the Technical University of Crete, for the "Update of the Restoration Study of the Building and the Environment of the Akrotiri Indoor Swimming Pool", with a budget of €68,523, with a six-month completion horizon.
The Deputy Minister of Sports emphasized that, in addition to the operation of the "ghost" swimming pool, priority is given to the creation of the track and field, with the throwing aid, in the surrounding area, while at the same time, both the Sustainability Study of the entire new sports center and the consultations on the Management Body model will be developed.
Regarding the Programmatic Agreement with the OAK, which was signed on August 24 with a four-month horizon for "Technical Consulting Services for the Preparation of the Repair and Upgrade of the National Nautical Center of Chania", with a budget of €248,000, Mr. Papadogiannis emphasized that the competitions have already been announced - and will be completed by the end of September - for the candidate contractor designers of the four subprojects:
-
Recording of the existing situation (surveying the plot, buildings, swimming pools and surrounding area),
-
Analysis of buildings and other infrastructures (proposals for stabilization - waterproofing of infrastructures with preliminary measurements and additions where required),
-
Assisting the Plumbing Department of OAK SA for the improvement of building infrastructure and environmental licensing (completion and rendering of proposals in the form of a constructible project),

As Mr. Kopasis noted, the TEE will also be activated for the greatest possible participation in the competitions.
Mr. Leipsakis pointed out that "we are on a very good path, congratulations to everyone."
Finally, Mr. Avgenakis asked everyone to continue at the same intense pace so that by the end of the year the required Studies for the reconstruction of the Swimming Pool in Nea Chora will be complete and mature enough for the Projects to be put out to tender.
