The Chania Sports and Recreation Association would like to thank the Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, for his consistency in words and actions, as in less than 48 hours he gave "flesh and bones" to what had been awaited with great anxiety over the last many months.

With the signing of the contracts for the Preparation of the Repair and Upgrade of the National Nautical Sports Center of Chania, with a budget of €248,000, and the Energy Upgrade of the Electric Lighting of the "Elena Venizelou" National Stadium, with a budget of €504,368.22, two major interventions in important facilities of the city begin, thus providing a solution to chronic problems of Chania sports.

The Deputy Minister of Sports also signed the execution of the Project "Energy Upgrade of Electric Lighting of the "Elena Venizelou" National Stadium"

The Program Contract with the subject matter of "Technical Consulting Services for the Preparation of the Repair and Upgrade of the National Nautical Sports Center of Chania", with a budget of €248,000, was signed by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, the CEO of the Development Organization of Crete (ODAC), Aris Papadogiannis and, as a third party, the President of the Nautical Club of Chania (NOX), Dimitris Leipsakis.

With the signing of the Program Agreement, the Deputy Ministry of Sports (funding body) and the OAK (implementing body) join forces to capture, implement and complete all those actions aimed at the immediate modernization of the neglected existing sports facilities at the Swimming Center in Nea Chora.

The aim is to provide them as modern, safe and functional sports and recreation spaces, both for the sports family and for the local community of Chania, contributing to the further development of sports and the improvement of the living standards of citizens.
In addition, the owner of the sports facilities, the Nautical Club of Chania, also agrees to contribute in every way to the implementation of the Program Agreement.

OAK, based on the Program Contract with the subject matter "Technical Consulting Services for the Preparation of the Repair and Upgrade of the National Nautical Sports Center of Chania", undertakes to carry out within four months (not counting the time required for the issuance of the required permits by the competent administrative services) the following:

• SUB-PROJECT 1 – “Recording of existing situation (surveying of plot, buildings, swimming pools and surrounding area)”, budget €55,800
• SUB-PROJECT 2 – “Analysis of building and other infrastructures (proposals for stabilization – waterproofing of infrastructures with preliminary measurements and additions where required), budget €68,200
• SUB-PROJECT 3 – “Assistance to the Plumbing Department of OAK SA for the improvement of building infrastructure and environmental licensing (completion and rendering of proposals in the form of a constructible project), budget €59,520
• SUB-PROJECT 4 – “Assistance to the Hydraulics Department of OAK SA for the repair and modernization of electrical installations (analysis and proposals for improvement, operation and energy upgrade of electrical installations), budget €64,480

"ENERGY UPGRADE OF ELECTRIC LIGHTING OF THE "HELENA VENIZELOU" NATIONAL STADIUM""

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, also signed the Contract, amounting to €504,368.22, for the execution of the Project "Energy Upgrade of Electric Lighting of the National Stadium "Elena Venizelou" by the Contractor Company "S. FASIAS CONSTRUCTION & CO. EE", which was awarded the lowest bidder in the relevant Tender. The deadline for completion of the Project is six months.
