As the administration of the Chania National Sports Center, we were informed with great joy and satisfaction that yesterday, 14/10/2020, the Board of Directors of OAK S.A. approved the draft Memorandum of Cooperation to be signed by the GENERAL SECRETARIAT OF SPORTS and the CRETE DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION S.A., for the upgrade of all building facilities of the National Sports Center of Chania (National Nautical Sports Center, National Shooting Range, National Stadium and Tennis).
Following communication with both sides, they assured us that - following the in-person meeting they had last week - the signing of the memorandum is now a formal procedure, there is secured funding from the Deputy Ministry of Sports and that the will is for the OAK to quickly complete the study part and, without further delays, to carry out the interventions that need to be made.
The Chania Sports and Recreation Association's management committee feels vindicated because from the beginning our goal was to initiate the necessary interventions in all 4 Chania Sports and Recreation Association facilities. At the same time, we feel optimistic and hope that the procedures will move quickly, so that our Chania can acquire safe and quality sports infrastructure, commensurate with the level that we want and deserve for Chania, the athletes and their families.
