The management committee of the E.A.K. Chania is pleased to inform the Chania community that the project's bid evaluation report has been approved by the General Secretariat of Sports and work will begin immediately for the removal of the canopies and restoration of the reinforced concrete perimeter walls of the two auxiliary swimming pools and the installation of four lighting masts at the National Nautical Sports Center of Chania.

The work was deemed urgent from a safety perspective following an inspection carried out by engineers from the General Secretariat of Sports for the smooth operation of the facilities of the National Nautical Sports Center of Chania.

Specifically, the work concerns:

  1. the removal of the metal canopies of the medium (25m.) and small (12.5m.) swimming pools due to extensive corrosion,
  2. in the repair-restoration of the external surface of the perimeter walls of the two above tanks (25m. and 12.5m) and
  3. in the installation of 4 new lighting masts (including lighting) to cover the area of the open-large (50m.) swimming pool.

It is recalled that the total deadline for the execution of the project is set at 90 days from the date of signing the contract.
